The Spring Bouquet
After a long winter, what could be more welcome than a big spring bouquet of red and yellow tulips in a pristine delft teapot? Students will use 27 stitches and 7 types of threads - many specialty, over dyed, and metalllic - to color blend for reality and layer for dimension. A new background technique mimicking a watercolor wash pops the design, while the two-color darning pattern adds texture and the blackwork lace pattern grounds the piece.
